New Defender Launch
Land Rover
ITG Connect LtdRequirement
Ability to support the new vehicle configuration specifically for the New Land Rover Defender, which had accessory packs not available for previous vehicle models.
Showcase the accessory packs, allowing a user to browser the accessory packs available, view details and add these to their vehicle configuration.
Present an updated UI for the new accessory packs, including new components and features such as modals and carousels, maintaining a minimum of level A accessibility standards.
Lastly to ensure that the new features were only available for the New Defender model and not for any other vehicle types or markets not supporting the new model.
Solution
Work alongside backend and data modelling teams to agree who the vehicle model and accessory packs would be identified to enable the required front end features on the front end.
Build new components inline with the designs to surface the new accessory packs, ensuring these were tested and adhered to level A accessibility. This included a new feature tray, listing out the packs available. Also new a modal to allow full details or each of the elements making up the pack to be displayed.
Cleanly integrate new features into the existing Configurator codebase and feature flag these for the specific vehicle and markets in question.
